Rite Aid Deal 1-18-2010
I went to Rite Aid today to see if they had any of the buy 1 4 pack of toilet paper for $1 get a $1 Up Reward, making the t.p. in a sense free. I didn't figure I'd score any free toilet paper. I was right. However while I was there a lady came up behind me and purchased 10 - 97 cent bags of TGI Friday's Baked Potato Skins. The register went crazy spitting out a bunch of rewards. I asked her if they were "free" and she said yes. I checked my receipt from the purchase I just made. I just started shopping at Rite Aid this month and I was only $20 away from getting my $20 Up Reward. For those of you who don't shop at Rite Aid that means if I spent another $20 at Rite Aid on participating products, Rite Aid would give me $20 in Rite Aid money. I went to the shelf and stocked up on TGIF Baked Potato Skins. I figure if the kids don't eat them, I can donate them to the local food bank. I bought all the bags they had with register rewards from previous transactions and with the new rewards that printed they were free. I spent $2.28 out of pocket on soap and 7 UP and got my $20 Rite Aid rewards. I don't feel bad about spending the $2.28 out of pocket on soap and 7 UP as I needed soap anyway. I would have spent that much at Winco. I came away with 7 UP and $20 to spend later. I also didn't feel bad about clearing the shelf of the chips as I've encountered nothing but empty shelves in the month I've been trying to find deals at Rite Aid. I must say I'm beginning to like Rite Aid, despite the shelves being cleared on Sunday morning before most people have a chance to shop. I may change my mind if I continue to find out of stocks.
